Futura Super Sport vs. U-Haul car hauler
If you're moving a lowered car, a track car or anything you'd hate to scrape, the trailer matters more than the tow vehicle. Here's how the Futura Super Sport we rent compares to a standard U-Haul car hauler.
The short version
Why the 3° angle matters
A standard rental hauler loads up a pair of steep steel ramps. For a stock sedan that's fine. For a lowered car, a long front overhang or a fiberglass splitter, that angle is where the damage happens — before the car is even on the deck.
The Futura Super Sport's deck lowers flat to the ground, so the car rolls on at a shallow 3°. There's no ramp crest to clear and no breakover point. Very low splitters should still roll on slowly, but the geometry stops being the problem.
Add a remote winch for cars that don't run, wheel straps that never touch the suspension, and an empty weight of 1,322 lbs that half-ton trucks can tow, and it's the trailer people rent when the car is the point of the trip.
